Intensive Care Treatment
Intensive care programs are an effective method of treatment for a variety of conditions where nerve based imbalances and sensory integration issues are involved. They are designed to elicit a positive change in both sensory and motor nervous system function in a brief period of time.
This is accomplished by exposing the sensory nervous system to various therapeutic treatments and therapies at a relatively high frequency (2-6 times per day). Please refer to the pamphlet "Treatment and Therapy".
In this way permanent neurological changes can be realized. Therefore, these programs combine intensity and frequency, which result in reeducation and re-patterning of the central nervous system.
Once the program is completed it is necessary for the patient to continue to follow nutritional and other recommendations at home. The first goal of treatment is to see a measurable change in nervous system function. The second is for the body to maintain this improved level of efficiency. This results in a healthier nervous system, which continues to improve on its own. Improved levels of overall health and functionality follow.
